Darren Galerkin is a seasoned global security operations expert with years of hands-on, real-world experience analyzing a wide variety of intelligence. He works with Soteria Intelligence’s monitoring team to uncover new trends on social media, and he also guides the company’s 24/7/365 brand reputation monitoring initiative.
In 2009, he joined an elite global security firm to provide administrative and security support. While there he was brought on to assist in the early inception and implementation of the firm’s Global Security Operations Center (GSOC).
After the inception and implementation of the GSOC, Mr. Galerkin continued to play an important role in the creation of the GSOC’s proprietary global security database systems, aviation monitoring systems, and client retail support mapping applications. He also provided GSOC operations and protocol training to newly hired GSOC Operators and other personnel.
Prior to Mr. Galerkin working in the global security field, he worked with the California Franchise Tax Board (FTB) as a Complex Tax Validation Technician. While at FTB he was responsible for correcting and processing tax returns containing errors, as well as escalating tax returns containing fraud. He later transferred to the FTB Investigations Bureau working as an Investigations Assistant. While at the Bureau, he assisted FTB Special Agents in the investigation, apprehension and prosecution of high-level tax evaders and criminal offenders.
Mr. Galerkin is a world traveler, having journeyed to some 350 destinations worldwide, including: Myanmar, Laos, Panama, Vietnam, India, China, Malaysia, France, Italy, England, Japan, Indonesia, Thailand, Korea and the UAE. Mr. Galerkin holds both EU (German) and US citizenship. He is also an avid aviator and professional drone aerial photographer, holding a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) private pilot license and FAA 333 drone exemption.
