Edward M. Lake is a versatile executive with extensive financial, operational and strategic management experience as CFO/COO and VP Corporate Development/M&A while serving in both publicly traded and privately held companies. Industries include: Aerospace & Defense, Software, M2M/Predictive Analytics, Cybersecurity, Social/Digital Media, Public Safety & Security, Wireless Communications and Investment Banking.
Currently, Mr. Lake is a Managing Director with Shoreline Partners, LLC San Diego’s oldest investment banking firm and a Co-Founder/CEO of Cyber Barrier; a start-up company developing a proprietary, smart secure data management system and is also actively engaged as a strategic advisor in several local companies.
Most recently, Mr. Lake held key positions as VP of Corporate Development/M&A and EVP of Operations for Kratos Defense & Security Solutions (Nasdaq: KTOS), a National Security technology company. Kratos’ diverse businesses include satellite communication systems, electronic warfare, unmanned systems, missile defense, network management software, cybersecurity, and critical infrastructure security. In his roles at Kratos, Mr. Lake had responsibility for company-wide corporate development and M&A in support of five operating divisions.
Mr. Lake serves as the Chair of the Steering Committee of the San Diego Chapter of the Aerospace & Defense Forum, serves on the National Security Sub-Committee for the L.A. based Pacific Council on International Policy and is very active in the local CyberTech organization.
Mr. Lake has successfully completed several equity financings including IPO, PIPE’s and other registered offerings and has completed in excess of 25 transactions on both the buy and sell side with an aggregate total deal value over $1.0B. Mr. Lake is also a frequent speaker on industry and M&A panels.
Mr. Lake received his B.S. in Business Administration from San Diego State University and resides in San Diego, California.
